This is my first tube amp, but I really like it so far. I admit, I bought the orange knob because I dig the aesthetics, but it was just an aesthetic change.
The amp was very easy to hook up, and has been feeding my 6xx and i5 very nicely. The i5 benefits from the warmth of the amp, and if you use it as a baseline, it takes to EQ with gusto.
This was kind of an impulse buy for me, but I have no regrets! Maybe a little on the pricey side, but if you are looking for an entry into tube sound, this could be for you.
Unmittelbar nach dem Auspacken war ich von der unglaublich guten Verarbeitungsqualität des GR70 angetan.
Alle Bedienelemente laufen hervorragend
flüssig. Die Röhren sitzen nach der Montage perfekt in den Sockeln.
Nach ein paar Stunden Einspielzeit war klar wohin die Reise ging.
Der GR70 klingt kristallklar mit einem Hauch Wärme und einer breiten sowie gut in die Tiefe gestaffelten Bühne.
Der Bass tönt trocken und konturiert.
Preisbewusste Audiophile werden sich nachhaltig über den geforderten Kurs freuen.
