This Father’s Day, we’re celebrating more than just music—we’re honoring the legacy of sound passed down from one generation to the next. At the heart of our campaign is a tribute to the cherished memories, life lessons, and timeless hi-fi gear that fathers have shared with their children. Through stories submitted by our community, we’ve seen how audio isn't just a hobby—it’s a legacy.
A Legacy Built on Sound
In our recent Father's Day campaign, our customers opened up about the role their fathers played in shaping their passion for audio. Whether it was sitting together in a vinyl-filled living room or building speaker systems from scratch in a garage, these stories reveal the powerful emotional connection forged through sound.
Si An’s Story: When Music Became Magic
"My first awe-inspiring audio moment happened when I was about eight, in our dimmed living room. Dad, with a conspiratorial look, set a record on his old turntable, connected receiver and those old speakers. The music was Beethoven's Symphony No. 5. When that opening da-da-da-DUM hit, it wasn't just sound, it was a physical force, vibrating through the floor and right into my chest. The entire orchestra seemed to materialize around us. Dad just sat there, eyes closed, a blissful smile on his face, occasionally sharing a knowing glance with me. It was pure magic, a silent agreement between us that something truly magnificent was happening. That moment wasn't just about the incredible sound, it was about the profound, unspoken joy of sharing pure wonder with my dad. And for me, hi-fi music was my dad's way of speaking volumes without saying much. It was about sharing his passion and wonder, inviting me into a world where sound transformed into pure magic. These moments, like the orchestra appearing in our living room or Pavarotti's voice bringing tears to his eyes, were acts of intentional presence. He wasn't just playing music; he was sharing his joy, creating a unique, quiet connection between us. Ultimately, it was his profound way of showing love, leaving me with a beautiful legacy of shared sound and feeling."
Si An describes how his father created a sanctuary of sound, transforming music into a deeply emotional experience. “It was a silent agreement that something magnificent was happening,” he says. These early moments became a profound, unspoken way of expressing love—an inheritance of shared joy and presence.
Bobby Spangler: Growing Up in the Studio

"My love of music was sparked by the recording studio my dad built in the early 70's. This pic is of the 1st control room, which was eventually replaced by a much bigger (and acoustically more accurate) space. Growing up around the inner workings and seeing music being created ignited a lifelong love of music and "listening for enjoyment".
In the picture is an Auditronics recording console, Studer 16 track 2 "tape machine, and EV Sentury III monitors. The console and tape machine have long since sold, but I did inherit the EV's and will be restoring them in the near future!"
Surrounded by equipment like a Studer 16-track tape machine and EV Sentury III monitors, Bobby’s childhood was steeped in the beauty of analog craftsmanship. Today, he’s restoring those same EV monitors, continuing the journey his father began.
Robin Stephenson: Watching the Spark in His Daughter’s Eyes
"Being a proud father that has always loved listening to and playing music, I get excited whenever one of my young daughters shows interest in anything musical. Be it dancing to their favourite music (or sometimes mine) on the home hifi setup, or playing along to my virtual drum set, I just love seeing them learn and the creative mind at work. I couldn’t believe how during this moment, Ambi started to make up her own song. I’d never seen her show this interest before and it was beautiful to witness. She must have been listening and/or watching whenever “papa” jumps on the piano."
Robin, a proud father and lifelong music lover, found joy in watching his young daughter Ambi create her first song. It was a touching moment of realization—that passion for music, once passed down, continues to evolve in the most unexpected and beautiful ways.
Atif-ul Hasan: A Son’s Quiet Tribute
"I'm not a dad—actually, I’m still a teenager. But music has been a quiet part of my life for as long as I can remember.
My dad wasn’t into HiFi or any fancy gear, but he loved his classical music. He had this small, old setup he used to play every morning. I didn’t think much of it back then, but now that I look back, those sounds were always there—calming, warm, familiar. I’d see him sitting there, eyes closed, just listening. It was his little escape, I guess.
That stayed with me. My love for audio grew on its own, but those early moments definitely planted a seed. Now, I'm always chasing that feeling—when the sound just pulls you in and makes everything else disappear.
Unfortunately, I don't have any images of my dad. He passed away when I was a kid...
Maybe someday I’ll be a dad, and maybe I’ll have my own little setup. And if my kid sees me the way I saw my dad—just quietly enjoying music—I think that would be pretty special. "
Though his father didn’t own fancy gear, he had a deep love for classical music, which he played every morning. Atif recalls. His father has since passed, but the warmth of those quiet listening moments lives on, inspiring Atif’s own pursuit of sonic perfection.
Andoenk: A Shared Joy of Headphones and Storytelling

"This little girl, who is always enthusiastic to see me as her father, enjoys my free time by listening to music using headphones with the DAC/Amp that I have. One day, she firmly asked to buy headphones to watch some of her favorite animated movies; frozen, How to Train Your Dragon, Moana, and others. Look at how happy she was when unboxing the headphones she requested."
Andoenk fondly recalls how his daughter would light up when seeing him enjoy his music setup. Seeing her joy while unboxing her first pair was a proud moment—proof that the passion had taken root in the next generation.
Thỏ Trắng: Training Little Ears, One Beat at a Time

From early childhood, Thỏ Trắng’s son has loved music. Using the DT900 Pro X headphones, they began ear training together. “Listening to music keeps him away from negative screen time,” Thỏ shares. Soon, the little one will be introduced to the i5—a step toward deeper listening experiences and cultivating refined taste.
Jim McLeod: A House Full of Sound
Jim's home is never silent, thanks to his Fosi Audio setup. “My girls all love staying at Dad’s. If it’s not my music playing, it’s theirs,” he says. In a photo he shared, his youngest stands proudly next to his latest speaker setup—a sweet reminder of how music bonds families across age gaps.
Novan Vandamma: Lullabies and Orchestra Nights

Novan’s approach to fatherhood includes nightly lullabies and orchestral music played softly through a portable speaker. “It calms him, keeps him away from screens, and introduces him to the brilliance of instruments,” he explains. These moments of quiet care leave a lasting impact on his child’s emotional world.
The Power of Shared Sound
These stories are not just about speakers, turntables, or amps—they're about human connection. Music is a universal language, but when shared between father and child, it becomes something more: a vessel for memory, love, and presence. Whether it's a gentle orchestral lullaby, the thunder of Beethoven, or the thump of a favorite animated film soundtrack, what matters most is the sharing—the simple act of listening, together.
