If you appreciate gear that honors the "less is more" philosophy, the Fosi Audio Luna3 turntable is a refreshing exercise in focused audio engineering. Rather than packing a spec sheet with cheap gimmicks, Bluetooth transmitters, or bloated internal circuitry, Fosi stripped away the unnecessary to focus entirely on the mechanical fundamentals of pure vinyl playback.

That matte black unified plinth paired with a heavy, high-mass transparent 300mm acrylic platter—complemented by Fosi’s signature orange accenting on the CNC-machined headshell and speed switch—gives it a modern, high-end industrial aesthetic that looks incredible sitting in a dedicated listening space. That heavyweight acrylic platter isn't just for show either; it does exceptional work damping high-frequency resonance to keep the background dead quiet.
​Under the hood, Fosi made the right calls where it counts. Driven by an ultra-steady servo motor and Hall sensor system, it maintains precise speed stability. Out of the box, it comes equipped with a reliable Audio-Technica AT-VM95E moving-magnet cartridge, delivering natural, well-controlled low-end response and crisp, articulate vocals without artificial coloring. Because Fosi deliberately omitted a built-in phono preamp, you get a direct, uncompromised analog signal path that gives you total freedom to pair it with a proper downstream phono stage and amplifier of your choice.

I installed my Luna3 and Box X5 phono preamplifier and I am very pleased. My vinyl records have been stored in a box since leaving college in 1982 and converting my listening to CDs. It’s a pleasure reacquainting myself with these old gems. They sound better than they ever did with my old system (Technics, Kenwood, and Genesis). I’m using my Fosi ZP3 preamplifier, ZA3 stereo amplifier, and some nice Polk bookshelf speakers and a Sony subwoofer. This new set up is delightful.
The shipping packaging for the turntable was excellent. Everything was in perfect condition. Assembly was straightforward. The instructions for balancing the tone arm and adjusting the cartridge tracking pressure were unclear and the diagrams were not particularly helpful. I did figure it out. Once the tone arm is in balance, adjust just the dial to bring the “0” to the top. The arm should still be in balance. Then rotate the dial and weight together, as a unit, counter-clockwise one full rotation which brings “0” back to the top. This results in a tracking pressure of 2 grams (there is no “2.0” on the dial). Otherwise, set up was a breeze.
Everything sounds so good right out of the boxes. I don’t anticipate trying other phono cartridges or swapping op-amps anytime soon. I think this turntable is an excellent value for the money!

This was my first purchased turntable. I grew up with turntables in the house, but this was the first I decided to get for myself as I expanded my physical media collection to vinyl (usually a CD guy).

In my experience, the turntable works very well, and I have had very few issues with it. Included are the turntable, heavy acrylic platter, headshell and stylus (an audio-technica VM95E), counterweight, arm, motor belt, power adapter, and dust cover. Everything was well packaged, and I had no issues with anything out of the box. I followed the directions and had no issues with getting everything put together. It took me a bit longer to balance everything out, but I blame that on my really crooked table more than the turntable.

I have mine hooked up to my Denon AVR-S960H. Important to note, the Luna3 does not have a built-in phono pre-amp, so I am using the phono port of my AVR. I will say that I have to up the volume quite a bit more than I would on my CD player or TV, so I would probably recommend getting a dedicated phono preamp to really bring out the best of the Luna3. This is pretty high on my list of upgrades.

Features:
There is a speed switch on the front that doubles as a power switch. 33 RPM to the left, 45 RPM to the right. Rest the speed switch in the middle and it turns off the turntable. There is also an auto-stop switch on the back of the turntable, as well as a 12v trigger. I can’t say I’ve ever used the 12v trigger before, but it is there if that is something you like. RCA out and a ground round out the back panel (along with a speed control out).

User Experience:
Like I said above, it took me a bit to dial in the balance correctly, but I think that was more of a user issue than anything to do with the Luna3. Otherwise, it has worked wonderfully. I realize I could have probably bought a cheaper turntable from a well established brand, but I figured I’d give Fosi a try here and I have no buyers (backers?) regret.
I’ve played a mix of vintage records and newer pressings, and both have played admirably. I saw in some of the youtube reviews that early reviewers had issues with the motor being noisy, but I can’t say I’ve had anything even remotely noticeable when it is running but nothing is playing, and certainly no noise when I have a record spinning.

Overall:
I think the thing to remember is that Fosi Audio at the core is a budget separates company. In that context, I think the Luna3 fits well in their stable of products on their experimental side. It doesn’t offer a lot of features that other turntables offer like a built in phono pre-amp or automatic tone arm, but was instead a first outing at trying a new product design. Paired with other Fosi separates (or your existing collection of separates), the Luna3 slots in and offers an affordable introduction to what I think is more akin to audiophile turntable offerings. Honestly, I’m happy with my purchase and can’t see myself upgrading any time soon, but I’ll probably sooner look into a higher end cartridge before I think of replacing the Luna3 whole.

Easy to install, very accurate speed and very accurate system adjustments. Maybe, for later, ich wish to upgrade to am MC System insteed of MM, because I think it is more „music“. But this has nothing to doo with the turntable .

I have several Fosi Audio Product, all perfect for my use. I will always buy Fosi Audio Products if I need a new Audio-PRodut or Extension

The turntable is a good choice if you want to give your old Vinyl a new home. The installing process was easy but mine had an issue with the arm. I had to disconnect it and check the connectors, because mine was only playing on one channel. After reinstalling the arm everything was ok. The sound is amazing together with a Fosi or similar preamp and a good Poweramp. In my thoughts it is not a highend unit, but a good choice.

so far it has been perfect.

I have connected the Luna 3 to my Fosi Áudio Stack but I’m still testing the best way avoid interference of a DOUK Audio EQ5 in the signal path. It seems it’s not a good ideia to have the EQ5 at all, so I’ll probably try taking it out of the way to test the sound quality which right now is not at higher levels.

Not sure where to start, I’ve had it for a few weeks now and at first I was thinking it was a bit expensive, not knowing what these things cost.

After getting it, I was happy to see the packing and unboxing experience (so many companies get this wrong). Fist impressions were positive, and even though there is a bit too much plastic for my taste, I figured it was ok.

Was surprised to see it came with RCA cables, even though I actually got some from Fosi when I purchased it so I guess I have a spare set now.

Connecting was easy, I’ve never calibrated a turn table so I was worried, but figured it out, and soon enough I was paying records.

Such a wonderful experience and I do think the audio technica cartridge is great to start, but already thinking of going with the upgrade options (red or brown).

I highly recommend this and I can’t wait for the next version of this. Wonderful experience and after looking at what this has and what the competition charges you for the same things, I was more than happy.
