The Fosi Audio DS2 has been a very pleasant addition to my audio collection. I paired it with my HIFIMAN Ananda Stealth headphones, a combination that really allows me to appreciate the quality and capabilities of this compact DAC and headphone amplifier.

What impresses me most about the DS2 is its ability to deliver a clean, detailed, and well-controlled sound. The Ananda Stealth headphones are particularly revealing, making it easy to appreciate the clarity, instrument separation, and spacious soundstage.

Listening to high-resolution FLAC recordings, especially artists like Dire Straits and Pink Floyd, is a wonderful experience. Subtle details, vocals, and instrumental textures come through with excellent definition, while the bass remains precise and controlled.

Another strong point is the DS2’s compact design, solid construction, and simplicity. It offers an impressive combination of portability and audio performance without requiring a complicated setup.

As an audio enthusiast who enjoys both vintage and modern equipment, I appreciate products that focus on sound quality rather than unnecessary features.

The Fosi DS2 is an excellent value and a great companion for the HIFIMAN Ananda Stealth. It proves that high-quality personal audio doesn’t necessarily require large or expensive equipment.

I have sound dropdowns on my Windows laptop.

excellent price, shipped from overseas so took a little while. does exactly what I need and powers my planar headphones beautifully.

I bought this after feeling dissatisfied the audio from my laptop - I have Sennheiser HD650 cans which I've had for close to 20 years and felt the audio coming from the 3.5mm output was flat and wanted an external DAC to see how it would improve. AND HOW! Honestly, music sounds how I remember hearing it 30+ years ago, it's like a veil is lifted from even lower quality (256k) encodes. I predominantly listen to rock, pop, electronic and 'alternative' music and everything has improved top end, clarity and soundstage. From a device that is so low in price (I paid 45GBP) I suddenly have the best headphone experience I've ever had - and that's about 40 years of experience! I will certainly be investigating Fosi's other products as I have a lifetime of physical music I'd love to rediscover.

It's a pretty good DAC/amp for the price. It sounds and functions well. I mainly like that it has an independent volume control from the playing device. Although, be careful, it says in the literature it doesn't work independently with all devices.

The device has the potential to be a great DAC, but my use case is a little different. I'm assembling a 'portable' music player to put in an automobile, using two Raspberry Pi, 8 batteries, an external wireless adapter and the Fosi Audio DS2 as the DAC. The finished device will be a little smaller than a shoe box. I wanted something simple, that didn't need a phone app for tuning, and the DS2 serves that purpose well. I was also something that had little to no amplification, because I'll be connecting to an automotive audio system. I'm not sure if double amplification is good or bad. Distortion is bad, and the DS2 should be pretty clean. It's not done yet, so I can't say that it's a 100% solution, but testing in the house is going well so far.

I thought that I might get better performance if I used a DAC different than the default DAC that came with my computer. I did a lot of review comparing and decided my best bet for performance and value was Fosi's DS2. There were no issues plugging it into my Dell and wow! What a difference! Very happy with this purchase.

I use the DS2 to listen to “lossless” streamed / downloaded music from Apple Music. I'm listening on my iPad or iPhone, using excellent open-back phones from Grado. The DS2 is a step-function improvement over the Apple dongle/dac. I hear instruments with great clarity and new-found sounds from familiar music files. The DS2 is well-worth what paid for. There are still iPhones in use with lightning rather than USB-C interfaces; I wish Fosi had included a USB-C to Lightning short cable.

Was able to listen to hi-res audio on the iPhone. Sounds amazing. However, when connected to a windows 11 machine, would get several audio dropouts per minute, making the experience unusable, even after a lot of troubleshooting (usb power and sleep settings, etc)
