The device is useless and I am very disappointed :(
If I have known it does not work with roon I would have chosen a different streamer.

I was looking around for a streamer to set up on my living room and poolside system, and this little piece just released! since i already had a ZD3 it was a match made in heaven! Works great, easy to setup, got one small update {user executed} and i was ready to use it after couple minutes out of the box. Is about 1.5x wider than my fosi stack so it will be on the side for now!

I've been very impressed with the Fosi Audio S3 Lite. It is a simple but highly capable digital streamer, especially if you already own a quality external DAC. Streaming is stable, the digital output is clean, and having USB, optical and coaxial outputs makes it extremely versatile.

The compact design and wide streaming support are also big pluses. For the price, the S3 Lite is one of the easiest ways to add modern streaming capabilities to an existing Hi-Fi system without compromising the digital signal.

Das Gerät macht ohne einen DAC keine Musik. Somit ist eine Klangbewertung nicht möglich. Die ganze Welt weiss was „Tidal Connect“ ist, nur ich nicht! Lange habe ich für die Einrichtung gebraucht bis ich verstanden habe was „Tidal Connect“ ist. Jetzt macht es Musik und zwar recht gut.

Thanks to Fosi Audio for the Lite Streamer! It works really well, and the sound quality is amazing. For this price, I don’t think you can find anything better. I’ve had a few issues with the UPnP folder navigation, but I hope these will be fixed in a future update.

The Bottom Line: Priced at $199.99, the Fosi Audio S3 Lite delivers phenomenal bit-perfect audio hardware that is severely held back by a highly frustrating software ecosystem and an underwhelming power supply.
The Good: Pristine Sound Quality
When it works, the sound quality of this digital transport is absolutely superb. Feeding a bit-perfect high-resolution stream to an external DAC yields a completely transparent, jitter-free audio profile. The sonic background is pitch-black, dynamic ranges are wide open, and the music feels entirely uncompressed. As a pure digital bridge, the hardware handles audio beautifully.
The Bad: A Highly Unsatisfactory, Buggy App
Unfortunately, getting to that great music is a painful experience. The Fosi companion app is incredibly unstable and buggy. It suffers from frequent connectivity drops, pairing glitches, and frozen screens. Streaming connections stutter regularly, making everyday navigation a deeply unsatisfactory chore. For a device that lacks physical playback controls and relies almost entirely on software, these bugs ruin the user experience.
The Ugly: No Linear PSU (While Schiit Manages It for $99)
The choice of power supply is a massive disappointment. Fosi packs in a generic, lightweight switch-mode wall adapter. It begs the question: why can Fosi not include a proper linear power supply at $200?
By comparison, Schiit Audio includes a robust, heavy linear power supply with the $99 Schiit Buf tube buffer. The external linear transformer on that $99 device actually weighs more than the entire Schiit tube buffer itself. If Schiit can manage a heavy-iron, clean linear power supply at half the price, Fosi has no excuse for cutting corners with a cheap wall-wart on a $200 audiophile streamer.

This has replaced all of the custom raspberry pi based streamers, and works perfectly with my Music Assistant and streaming from my iPhone.

Works perfectly. No lag. Instant music for me.

Wonderful journey started with FOSI AUDIO …..it’s a fantastic streamer with extreme low noise ….. software with no glitches …. Super easy to use …. My chain is S3 lite , my R2R DAC , fosi ZP3 pre amp and my MARANTZ power amp with B&W 603 S3 ….its wonderful to hear the unheared ….
Expecting R2R DAC’s and more musical gears ….

First this unit is not very friendly with its user interface.
It's confusing to the point I gave up using it.
Yeah it worked but you still have to use your phone for your streaming source so what's the point?

That was another reason I stopped using this streamer and went to use my old iPhone 8 Plus as my streaming source, it's about the same thing as this streamer being sold here, and still have full use of my regular phone for everyday use while the 8 Plus does the streaming.

Money wasted for me and now it sits in the closet.
Every other Fosi device I have bought has been worth every penny and 10 star rating.
This streamer was a waste.

Fosi's S3 Lite streamer is exactly what the audio market needs, a great sounding streaming transport that's compact, easy to use, and equipped with just the features music lovers need with no excess baggage. The standout feature of the S3 LIte for many (myself included) is that it does not contain a DAC (or a screen). For Tidal, Spotify, Qobuz, Airplay users, the S3 Lite is a dream come true. That said, for me, the lack of support for the Idagio classical music streaming service proved a deal-killer so, reluctantly, I sent the unit back. Fosi customer support has been phenomenal and I have assured them I will instantly re-purchase the S3 if Idagio can be added in the future. Bottom line, if you already own a DAC and subscribe to Tidal or Spotify, just buy it. It's outstanding.

I have the Cayin HA-2A vacuum tube headphone amplifier and the LAiV R2R micro DAC so this streamer is perfect for my Steven!

I use it with Fosi Audio ZD3 and V3 Stereo in my living room.
