I feel like the streamer market is pretty saturated right now, but I can't say I'm mad about my purchase of the S3.

I paired it up with the ZA3 via XLR cables. After powering it on, walking through the connection set-up, I was ready to go in less than five minutes.

I was able to stream via Tidal Connect with no issues. It found the S3 on my network easily, and it just worked. I feel like that was my overall experience of the S3. Nothing ever didn't work. The most complicated thing was that I didn't read the instructions about linking the bluetooth remove, and that was my fault.

The app is pretty no-frills, but if you go on their forums, they have a roadmap of updates that are coming, and you can submit your own requests.

I bought this to update the inputs of my classic Sansui G6000 receiver. I’m going from a 7.1 a/v receiver to a 2.1 channel set up. Wow! The new school AKM DAC coupled with my old school A/B class receiver sounds amazing! Detailed and full, warmth with punch. I can retain my sub and just connect my tv with the eARC HDMI connection and my digital sources remain in the same. Easy switching through the tv for gaming, Apple TV and movies. Once the streaming services that I use, Pandora and Amazon Music come on line, I’ll give this 6 stars. Streaming through AirPlay is not great if you walk out the room with your phone… the connection becomes unstable quickly. Other than that, this punches above its weight. Can’t wait for the next update!

I really liked the streamer. I had a Wiim Mini, and the sound quality is much better. The only things missing are room correction and, preferably, USB. I'm really looking forward to a well-designed, user-friendly new firmware.

It became my core multimedia / HiFi system. It is conveniently connects to my TV via HDMI ARC, turns on automatically, the volume can be adjusted with the remote also, and it switches off with it also. Besides that, I can turn it on anytime with Tidal, automatically switches the input without the need of a remote. Besides that, it sounds great!

The new Nine Inch Noize album is sadly not on vinyl, so I bought this device literally just to play it on my fancy speakers. It works great. I've seen some criticism online about the app not being amazing, which is valid, but it easily connected (I'm using Spotify), and that's really all I need.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Like many new products, there was a firmware update when I set it up. Pretty normal, but for some reason it took ~45 minutes to download and almost 3 hours to install, which was not at all what I was expecting (most firmware updates I've done on other devices are pretty quick). I was worried that something went wrong and the device got ruined, but I decided to be patient, and it finally completed, and the device works fine. Just a heads up so others don't freak out like I did.

After purchasing the S3 + ZA3 bundle I could not be happier with the quality of equipment and such an easy setup to match my speakers. After unpacking I realised I was missing a speaker cable and with a quick response from Fosi customer service via email, they posted the additional cable which arrived promptly! I could not fault this. Well done Fosi for looking after customers that matter to you…Oh and big thanks to Sherry! 🙏🏼

Da ich die hochwertigen Wandler des MAP 1 nutzen wollte, habe ich den S3 per Toslink verbunden und das Ergebnis ist fantastisch. Der Sound bleibt extrem klar und dynamisch, genau so, wie ich es von meiner Kette gewohnt bin.
Besonders beeindruckt hat mich die Unkompliziertheit: Während Hi-Res-Streaming (z. B. Apple Music) früher über USB oft mühsam war, klappt es hier jetzt in Sekunden. Der S3 ist zwar winzig, bietet aber eine saubere Performance ohne Kompromisse. Auch die eigenen Wandler des S3 klingen für diese Preisklasse überraschend detailliert in den Höhen und im Bass. Eine perfekte Lösung, um hochwertige Klassiker fit für das digitale Zeitalter zu machen!

Well, I jumped on early and got this streamer directly from Fosi. This was my first jump into HiFi and I went all in on Fosi with speakers, sub, amps and the. Also this S3 Streamer as I saw it as the best and cheapest way to get started.

Opón getting the streamer I was very disappointed that Tidal connect did not work out of the box :( this was such a bad first experience with the brand, so I contacted support and got that started to try and see if they could help.

We did go back and forth for a few days, and I was really just about to return everything I got ($1,500+ in total), but they kept responding and trying to help, at the end they told me and update to the tidal app would come and that it would fix this.

Funny thing is that everything else works great, Bluetooth, Spotify connect, Apple play and google cast. It was just Tidal that was not working.

Well…. A few days later, Tidal updated the app and sure enough, things started to work. Fosi did apologize, even though I do think it was more a Tidal issue than a Fosi, but what do I know.

Regardless, they kept communicating and I’m now a customer for life. It’s funny but it’s when things go wrong that you see what a company is really like.

The streamer works great and I’m happy, and they have also promised to add more feature and make it better, and this will make this purchase worth even more.

Le Fosi Audio S3 est une réussite sur le plan du rendu sonore grâce à une technologie de qualité bien maitrisée. L’intégration initiale au réseau Wi-Fi est aisée, la fonction Bluetooth est efficace, à noter qu’elle doit être activée lors de cette procédure pour un smartphone sous Android (ceci n’est pas mentionné au point 1 de la procédure du guide d'installation rapide actuel). La partie logicielle n’est pas encore à maturité, Fosi Audio confirme que certaines fonctions essentielles sont encore en développement, elles seront intégrées dans les prochaines semaines. L’ensemble est perfectible principalement en ce qui concerne la gestion des entrées/sorties qui n'est pas très intuitive autant sur le streamer que sur la télécommande. Les 4 indicateurs lumineux sur le boitier sont peu lisibles en plein jour si on n'est pas dans l'axe du boitier et qu'on s'éloigne un peu de lui (en utilisation de salon par exemple). Ils mériteraient d'être plus lumineux et plus gros ou, encore mieux, que le boitier dispose d'un écran attractif. Quant à l’application à télécharger elle est fonctionnelle pour les éléments basiques mais elle est cependant d’une apparence peu réjouissante et toujours en phase d'amélioration.
La partie DAC intégrée est superbe, on peut donc aisément utiliser le S3 comme préampli sans y adjoindre un DAC externe, cela sans sacrifier la qualité du rendu sonore. A mentionner: les deux sorties XLR mais pas de sortie coaxiale (seulement optique). L’entrée RCA est bienvenue pour y brancher un élément analogique.
En conclusion : le S3 est un excellent streamer au rapport qualité prix convaincant. Il restitue un très beau son mais nécessite encore quelques améliorations logicielles et fonctionnelles pour arriver à maturité. Je souhaite vraiment une ergonomie plus efficace et une esthétique plus aboutie à l’avenir afin de hisser le S3 au-dessus de la compétition.

It's better than I expected. The sound quality is also okay... It connects well from the perspective of using a Turkish plug. The US plug is better than the EU plug when connecting an adapter.

Please provide a Korean manual. There are many music enthusiasts in Korea as well. Please use Korean electrical codes as well. I really like the way FOSI is progressing.

I’m very pleased with the streaming performance of the S3. I don’t use the preamp capabilities because it’s not sufficiently versatile and doesn’t have balanced outputs - so I use a separate preamp. Then Fosi released a version without the preamp at a lower price so Inwoukd have saved money if I’d delayed my purchase by a couple of weeks. The remote, with its tiny buttons and markings, is hard to read and use.

Fosi Audio S3 Balanced HiFi Streamer

The S3 is quite the surprise. It outclasses the WiiM Pro Plus or WiiM Ultra. But things jump up to a noticable degree with I swapped out the stock switching power supply with a Linear Power Supply, and even further capacitor filter bank. We are talking inexpensive but good products $100cad each to keep it in value proposition territory. Very impressive sound connected to a pair of Genelec G3 monitors. Hats off to the Fosi Team. I won't say giant killer because it's a misleading vague expression. But clearly this is a great inexpensive product. Buy it!

Is my first streamer and I'm very please with its performance vía Tidal Connect and HDMI Arc conectivity. I just receive its last update of your app and is getting better and better. Please keep up surprise all of us.

I use a samsung tab as a remote, but the fosi app only hv vertical view, hope next version will have a horizontal view.
I use s3 as a preamp, so I think the volume in app better have number show the status eg. 1-100 or show in db.

I’d been looking for an entry level streamer and decided to go for the new S3 since I had a great experience with the little Fosi BT 20A. So far, it’s been great. Sound quality is fantastic and the form factor is good. The app needs work, but is functional for getting the job done.

The Fosi Audio S3 has exceeded my expectations. Setup was simple, streaming has been reliable, and the sound is clean, detailed, and enjoyable. Paired with my ZA3, it's an incredible value and an easy recommendation.

Fosi Audio S3 Balanced HiFi Streamer

I had ordered a bundled kit consisting of the ZA3 amplifier with an S3 Streamer over a month ago. However, my shipment was broken down into 3 separate parts, with the streamer arriving in about 15 days or so, next were the bundled cables and a month later, the amplifier. So, the delivery part was something that left a bitter taste and it is something FOSI needs to work upon.
I just booked up the system to my TRIANGLE BOREA BR03 speakers and after sending a few minutes on the setup, it was up and running.
Sound quality and musical experience:
In one word - AWESOME for something so small and yet so very powerful. Imaging clarity, Dynamics and a highly Neutral, but Rich sound character are the highlights of this system. You can listen to this setup for hours without fatigue and enjoy every note in the true sense of the word.
However, the app through which the system is controlled needs to go from mediocre to superb and FOSI really needs to work on it, so that buyers don't opt for a solution from WIIM or SMSL or other brands. FOSI needs to stay ahead of the game and the app experience can help to a great extent, because that's what counts when you just want to use a product to its fullest.
Build Quality:
No complaints here, because at this price level, FOSI has given the best.
Overall:
With a little hard work, FOSI can surely achieve TRUE STARDOM in the AUDIOPHILE WORLD, because what it has achieved is nothing short of a MARVELLOUS ACHIEVEMENT.
