How to power on and off to prevent any thumping sounds that could damage the equipment?

Power On: Turn on the turntable, then the BOX X5, followed by the amplifier.

Power Off: Turn off the amplifier, then the BOX X5, and finally the amplifier.

What power supply is used for the BOX X5？

The BOX X5 is powered by its supplied AC adapter, not a DC power supply. DC power supply filters cannot be used for AC power supply.

Budget cost but not budget sound quality

The Fosi X5 was bought to provide a 2nd moving coil phono input for the 2 turntables I use.
I already own an Ifi Zen phono preamp and I am happy with its performance.
I decided to buy the Fosi x5 phono preamp after hearing, reading and seeing ( on YouTube ) good reviews about it.
The Ifi Zen is a good value for money phono stage being very quiet, with a transparent sound quality demonstrating a clean treble, detailed midrange and good bass depth and articulation. Also it's sufficiently versatile to cope with the Ortofon and Audio Technica cartridges that I use.
These qualities are matched by the Fosi, plus the Fosi's bass response sounds slightly more powerful and defined and its overall sound has slightly more weight and fullness.
Despite its low cost, its sounds far better than its budget pricing would suggest which makes it an excellent value for money phono preamp. Highly recommended

Phono preamp Fosi Audio Box X5

A very good product that outclasses the more expensive competition. I have a Project Debut Pro S turntable and I compared the Box X5 directly with the ifi Zen Phono V2. Fosi gave more space, nice bass, so it stayed with me for longer. I didn't need a subsonic filter. As for the noise, it will appear only at an extreme volume level, close to the maximum, so it's a negligible issue (with the ifi Zen there was no noise at max vol). Finally, I'll add that Fosi support works very well.
