Quality device, unfortunately a poor USB-C cable.

Pro:

The Fosi Audio DS2 USB C to AUX Headphone Amplifier DAC Dongle can be freely used between device (used/tested on a Lenovo 16", Dell 15", Mac Air M2, Lenovo Android Tablet and Samsung S21FE in combination with a DT990 Pro 250 Ohm).

Sounds very nice and for the two Windows laptops, surely better than the on-board options. For the M2 it is difficult to assess, the standard jack works perfectly with the 'cans', the DS2 sounds slightly 'thinner'. Works fine on the Lenovo tablet and the S21FE.

Con's:

Software is restricted to Windows only.
USB-C cable quality isn't the best. After 40 days of nearly daily use on multiple devices, I started getting audio cut-outs due to device disconnects. Not what I was expecting from the USB-C cable.
For the M2 Mac , the tablet and the S21 FE, there is no response to the volume controls.

Overall:

Price wise a solid device delivering the performance as expected, device versatility is great. Slightly let down by the USB-C cable quality.

The Fosi DS2 Mini Audio USB DAC Headphone AMP

The DS2 is much smaller and very light. I really like the volume control buttons they seem to allow finer adjustment than the volume control on my IPhone. Besides headphones I am using it for Yamaha analog receiver and passive speakers. Also it was shipped promptly including a two year warranty I’ll be recommending it to my friends.

Decent sound but...

I've been using this with my HD600 and IE200. Compared to the apple dongle, it provides noticeably more power, leading to a fuller, more detailed sound, especially with the HD600. I reach comfortable listening levels at 65-70% with the HD600 using the unbalanced output but plan to use the balanced port when I get a balanced cable. I also noticed a slight warmth that took some getting used to and many not be for everyone. My main gripes are that when switching songs with different bitrates, playback is either slightly delayed or initially plays in only one ear (though this is already stated by them) and that every couple songs, audio randomly cuts out and reconnects in the middle of the song. All in all, however, it provides a decent sound that makes it hard for me to go back to my apple dongle. I just wish it wouldn't cut out in the middle of a song every now and then.

Sounds Great, Even Without Use of Colored Lights or Buttons

At a very reasonable cost, connected to my iPad and the new Noble Audio Knight IEM, w/ the .44 connector, sounds better than any headphone setup I’ve had. But I can’t use the buttons and I can’t get to the perfect blue light. (Maybe me?)
