We’re proud to share a special collaboration that connects sound, design, and art in a truly inspiring way.
Artist Daniel Arsham’s Bonsai Speaker — now showcased at Perrotin Dubai — brings together craftsmanship and creativity in a sculptural form that both looks and sounds alive.
We’re honored that Fosi Audio’s technology helps bring this unique creation to life.
Daniel describes the Bonsai Speaker in his own words:
“I’ve completed the first of my Bonsai Speaker sculptures — a work that began as a drawing made in a hotel room over a year ago. From those initial sketches to trial and error in both the building and the functionality, this piece tries to harmonize form and function.
The copper branches, both aesthetic and conductive, channel sound directly from the amplifiers, transforming the sculpture into a living auditory experience. Drawing inspiration from Japanese bonsai traditions where a living form is sculpted in slow motion over time, copper, typically industrial, is reimagined as organic growth — positioning this object between nature and technology. The work is my own visual appreciation and observation of bonsai and audio equipment in some potential future that feels like it’s now arrived.”
We deeply admire this vision — where sound isn’t just heard but seen, shaped, and felt.
It’s an approach that resonates with our own belief that audio design can be both technical and emotional, functional and artistic.
Our Role in the Collaboration
Within the Bonsai Speaker installation are three of our products, chosen to complement both the design and performance of the piece:
-
LC30 VU Meter — Its twin analog needles move gracefully with the music, giving a visual rhythm that brings sound to life.
-
BT30D Stereo Amplifier — A compact Class-D amplifier that drives the system’s clarity, precision, and dynamic presence.
-
M03 Subwoofer Mono Amplifier — Dedicated to the low-frequency section, delivering deep, controlled bass that grounds the entire composition.
Each component represents our philosophy at Fosi Audio: to merge high-fidelity performance with thoughtful, enduring design.
An Encounter Between Art and Sound
For us, this project goes beyond technology.
It’s about how sound can shape emotion and how engineering can become part of artistic storytelling.
Seeing our amplifiers and meters integrated into a sculpture that explores the connection between nature and technology is both humbling and inspiring.
We didn’t set out to build an art piece — yet here, our products have become part of one.
It’s a reminder that the pursuit of pure sound can take many forms, and sometimes, it can even become sculpture.
On View at Perrotin Dubai
The Bonsai Speaker is currently exhibited at Perrotin Dubai (Gate Village Building 5, DIFC) — one of the world’s leading contemporary art galleries.
The exhibition is open through January 10, 2026, offering visitors a chance to experience this fusion of material, movement, and sound firsthand.
We’re honored that Fosi Audio’s LC30, BT30D, and M03 are part of this creation — a meeting point of art and audio that celebrates imagination, balance, and collaboration.
This collaboration with Daniel Arsham reminds us that design and technology share the same goal — to move people.
We’ll continue exploring how our products can bring warmth, precision, and creativity to experiences that go beyond performance — where sound tells a story, and where music, art, and innovation meet in harmony.
