This seems to be something of a niche product but can probably be useful in many different situations. Im using it to support my Monsoon Planar Media 9 speakers. These speakers are excellent in sound, but havent been made in years. A weak point of the speaker system is the "puck", or wired remote that has the headphone jack and volume control that often causes problems. Since I know I cant replace them, Im trying to keep them problem free for as long as possible. So, Im using the Fosi SK01 in the place of the factory remote. An added plus is the additional features of the tone controls and gain and loudness functions. As it is working. I can leave the puck alone, and power the speaker system with a separate power strip.

This DAC blew me away with its sound for its size. It was smaller than I expected, which made it perfect for portability. Its 220mW headphone amplifier is crazy, enough to power any headphones you could want and make them pop. There was no distortion as advertised; it made my IEMs sound great, and I could hear every detail in the songs. I have a small complaint about how the volume control works, as there isn't a visual top and bottom for the volume, and you have to guess, but the buttons are simple. I haven't had any issues with temperature running this at 32-bit, 384kHz for extended periods of time. Overall, this works perfectly for my use case, and I will definitely take this with me on trips. I don't have to sacrifice the sound I'm used to at home when I travel. I would definitely recommend this, as it's affordable, portable, and reliable.

It works, nice sound, but boy does it get hot. Like fry-an-egg-hot.’IMPORTANT UPDATE!!!! I swapped out my stock HD650 cable with a Youkamoo balanced 4.4 and it fixed the heat and battery draw issue. This setup now highlights the qualities of this DAC. Upgrade your cable if it happens to you and you’ll love this product. Changed my 4 Star to a 5.

I mainly wanted these for my phone since it doesn't have a 3.5mm jack (most phones just have Bluetooth nowadays) to listen to my higher end wired headphones. Sure I have wireless headphones, ear buds and even conduction but the limited options for phone and wireless headsets are lacking either poor volume or has volume but no bass. With this little device i don't have to settle for just the wireless this or that. I can now sync this headphone amplifier to my phone via bluetooth then plug in any 3.5mm jack wired headset and wahla. It boosts the volume to the point where I cannot listen to the volume wide open like I did with my wireless sets. I also tested this out on my PC because I have a cheap sound bar.
